day 3 of our celebration...

it's day 3...but let's finish yesterday first!
I just realized that I posted the wrong hanger photo...

the real one has pen stitching all around it...

it's just a little detail, but it does make a big difference.

And yes...covering the whole thing with a coat of multi medium would work just great.

I got several emails asking about the coffee mug shown in yesterday's post......

The name of the dishes we have is Signature Sorrento...
and I get them @ Carson's and here...

Their service is incredible...

I get my order in just a day or 2...
and the best part?

Shipping is only $5.50...no matter what you order.

One day we could barely lift the box...
dishes are heavy & the shipping was still just $5.50.

They even have specials & ship for free.

These guys come in lots of cool colors for mixing & matching...and they have lots of fun pieces...
Another thing I LOVE...dishes...

Here's today's quickie gift idea...

it's called...RUB-ONS to the rescue...

One day I needed a quick (like in 10 minutes)inexpensive thank you gift for our PO gal, who had done us a favor...

I LOVE candles and I think most people do...
So I always have a big supply here...
for us & for quick gifts...

Start by using any candle in a glass container...
and simply apply rub-ons...

Maya Road are THE BEST...

seriously...they don't jump off the sheet, like some brand x's do...
and once on, they stay put.

I added a trim strip of Maya Road's scallop ric rac to the bottom of the glass...

Then I added a few pearls from Hero Arts as accents...
I LOVE them too...

actually I LOVE all of their stick on rhinestone gems...

and a simple candle now looks like a gift...

TA DA...

This was hard to photograph...with the glare...
but here's an angled shot...

And once again...just choose a candle color to coordinate with any home decor & you have a pretty impressive quick gift.

Some days simple is good...
and some days...

it's all about the details...

Let's celebrate with another PROJECT!!!

I met Heidi & Terra on the cruise, back in October.
They are 2 REALLY cute & very fun gals...

They are the owners of Simon Says Stamp, a cool online store.

I was asked to be a guest designer on the Simon Says Stamp blog and my challenge was simply to use a CHARM...

COOL...just what I LOVE...
I bet I have some here...
So here's my project and a link to their blog...

and here's my use of the CHARM...tim's muse token, held in place with a Maya Road trinket pin...

off to the right you'll also see a new Maya Road teardrop shaped pin...YUM!

the flower is covered with my fav rock candy distress stickles...

If you pop over to their blog, I have the complete supply list there & ALL the instructions for you too!

Scroll down kind of far to get to the post...

SO...today...2 projects...to celebrate our blog!

They also stock ALL of my stamps, book & acrylic storage binder...
and lots of my wood mounted stamps too...

and they love all tim & Maya Road products too!

Terra told me that by the end of the week,
they will have IN STOCK all of the archival inks...

Besides black, I REALLY LOVE coffee, sepia & olive.
They'll have the reinkers for you there too.

Take a look again @ the project & you'll see stamping done with 3 colors of archival.

If the stamping was all done in black...
it would look flat & VERY boring...

Ok on to the giveaway scoop...>

Southern Cricut...aka Tina from Alabama did contact me. CONGRATS to TINA!!!

Goodies will be headed your way!

Today's winner is...

lilacandplum
and here's the comment...

Hi Wendy - great idea - thanks. your ink class in madison so inspired me that i started doing tim's 12 tags today...just so i get more practice with all the stuff you taught us. way fun. can't wait to see tomorrow's idea...thanks again, nonnie

So...nonnie, you have until 7am tomorrow to contact me with your shipping info...

Today's giveaway starts with a copy of my book...some multi medium...and more SECRET goodies...

And just you wait to see the GRAND finale on FRIDAY...

My friends from Simon Says Stamp...
have donated an AWESOME...

REALLY TOTALLY AWESOME prize...
to help us celebrate!

I'd like to keep it for myself...just kidding...
well...not really...it's COOL!

ANYWAY...I'm just saying...

it's REALLY GOOD!!
You DON'T want to miss out...

Want today's prize?

still keeping it simple...

just leave a comment!

Have a GREAT day...
pop over to visit Simon Says Stamp...
see what others did for their charm challenge!

WAIT...One more thing...
Terra also gave me this tidbit of info...

we are also having a Secret Santa Giveaway at our store.
Santa puts extra supplies and stamps in at least 10 packages every day (even on weekends!) - sometimes 15 or 20!
It lasts now until Christmas! We love Christmas and...we love to give stuff away! It is so much fun playing Santa Claus!

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!

Make art!

Gotta agree...the Maya Road trinket pins are way too neat! I really like that you stamp with colors other than black...and it's so nice that there are so many colors in the archival inks. So many great tips, so little time...

YIPPIE SKIPPIE!! I was reading today's post...love the candle idea, the maya teardrop thingie, the fact that simon says is carrying your things...been buying from them for two years now...always great service, need the acrylic covers for your book, might just go there and get a set...think I'm having a great morning because the mail just came - including the Artfully-said stamp set which I decided I couldn't live without..just finished my tags for Tim's challenge today...during which i was channeling you teaching...I had the ink on the tag...thought it looked ok, maybe needed a little bit more...then saw you standing in front of the room in WI saying...if you think you have it STOP, don't go on...you can't take it back off. of course it was right, I stopped, the ink is fine, when i got the stamping on and sunflower sparkle splatters it is all good. so then I post there and come to read your blog, and it's all happy and good and then i get to the bottom and I'm the winner today!! Thank you so much....I bet you hear this all the time...but I never win...this is so cool...I'll just float through the rest of the day...or power work...the sooner i get my list done, the sooner I can come back up here and make art, which is really all I want to do!! Everyone have a great day and I can't wait to see who wins tomorrow...because you'll be so excited too! Thanks for all the inspiration Wendy!! and the fun prizes!!

Hello Wendy! I love the spiffed up candle...they are my absolute favorite indulgence...the ones I like are very limited in colors though, so it's a neat trick to add the colored rick rack. Combined with the rub ons and pearls, it's a very chic gift (if you can get your hands on a Diptyque candle that is)!
